ABOUT SYNAPSE

Synapse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing connections and support for individuals with brain injuries and raising awareness about brain injuries. Here at Rice Synapse, we aim to provide Rice students with an opportunity to serve as leaders within the local community and learn about the patient perspective of living with a brain injury, but also to provide Rice students who themselves have brain injuries with support, exposure to additional resources, and the opportunity to connect with and learn from one another.

JULIET ALI-CACCAMO

President

My name is Juliet and I am a junior at Rice University. I am majoring in Cognitive Sciences and minoring in Medical Humanities and Spanish. Outside of Synapse, I like to hike, spend time with my family, and explore new coffee shops with friends. My favorite part of synapse is hearing the stories of individuals with brain injury in the community, and raising awareness about living with brain injury here at Rice.

ANISH ATTARDE

VP of Buddy Program

My name is Anish and I am a Rice University junior at Lovett College. I am majoring in Biosciences and Kinesiology! Some of my interests include playing basketball, following odd sports, and biking trails around campus. I am excited about synpase because I want to learn more about brain injury and provide community members with an outlet to openly express their feelings in a secure environment.
